Little Deborah Harrington stared across the street the day the Michaels family moved in. Who was this family? Would she even like them?
Nicholas Michaels hated the fact he had to move away from everything and everyone in his life, but his feelings change when he meets the Harringtons. Deborah and Nicholas become the best of friends, and as the children grow up, their friendship deepens.
But when tragedy strikes, will this cause them to part ways? Or will it perhaps make them realize they may have stronger feelings for one another before it's too late?
*Author's Note*

This was a slower read than usual for me. I liked the premise of the story, and the book cover. I didn't care for the writing style. The dialogue was stilted and unrealistic in places for the ages of the characters. There was too much description for unnecessary minutiae. It was too wordy. It slowed the story down, and became tedious to read. I didn't really feel any connection between any of the characters because there was all telling and no showing.Product details

sweet simple romance
I loved how this story is told differently than most! I enjoyed reading this book so much I did so in one day!
The most boring book ever Everything was decribed in detail that went no where
Funny entertaining sad and Happy romantic, fun reading and enjoy having these characters meet each other and bring happiness into their lives.
Couldn't get past the terrible writing style (about on a 5th grade level) and the grammatical errors, and by page six I was already over this book. Don't waste your time
What a sweet little book! It's sort of Pride and Prejudice meets Henry and Beezus. And I understand from the author that it's semibiographical (I hope I didn't give anything away there) so it's even more fascinating knowing you're getting the inside scoop.
A promising first effort from a brand-new author!
What seemed at first to be a sweet coming-of-age story, soon was complicated by poor sentence structure and grammatical errors throughout. Too many details and repetitive info made for a very slow read. In spite of that, the story is nice and the effort is to be applauded. One reviewer mentioned that the two remaining novels in the series are more finely-tuned and better-written. Glad to hear as this one did not really meet my expectations, given the description. With some necessary structural
editing, this would be a nice, clean romance for young teens.
